To commemorate this years Summer Solstice I hiked to the top of Mynydd y Capel overlooking Merthyr Vale , to see one of the smallest Standing Stones in South Wales . The Monolith is located on the southern edge of a large cairnfield (ST08499) .
A lot of cairns are spread over the plateau I intend to return later this year to fully investaigate ..
Spectacular panoramic views of hills ,valleys and the Beacons including the Black Mountains North East and Pen y Fan and Corn Du to the the North . Stone is set North East - South West
